JOB PLANNING & SAFE SYSTEMS OF WORK DESCRIPTION.

  • Has the Technician undertaken a JSA assessment of the risks involved prior to carrying out any work?

  • Is the JSA completed accurately,Dates,Address all boxes filled out?

  • Have all the people Onsite signed into the JSA .

  • Can they demonstrate an understanding of the content and meaning of the JSA?

  • Have all technicians Onsite read and understood the SWMS for this job?

  • Are all technicians carrying their White Card or equivelant?

PREVENTION OF FALLS

  • Is it possible technician could fall off roof or thru ceiling?

  • Does the roof space contain brittle or fragile materials in the work or traffic areas?

  • Is the building structure and ceiling rafters safe to work on?

  • Has the technician taken steps to identify and control environmental factors,which may increase the likelihood of falls-Moisture,lichen,heat,dust

ELECTRICAL SAFETY.

  • Is the technician aware of nearby electrical service cables and providing a safe system of work?

  • Has the technician identified and isolated power sources where appropriate?

  • Is there FOIL INSULATION in roof. If yes stop work and contact your supervisor immediately.

ACCESS & ENTRY.

  • Are ladders used for access?

  • Does the ladder have non slip feet?

  • Has the ladder been tested and tagged current for this month?

  • Does the ladder have an assets number attached?

  • Is there a safe area to place the ladder?

  • Are there any warning devices around the ladder-Eg witches hats,hazard tape?

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT.

  • Do the tools appear to be in good clean and safe condition?

  • Is the technician wearing safety shoes ?

  • Is the technician using safe work practices to move tools and equipment around the work site?

MANUAL HANDLING.

  • Has the technician taken steps to minimise the handling of heavy or awkward equipment?

WORK AREA.

  • Are materials and preparation areas tidy,orderly and clean ( Trip hazards are minimised )?

  • Has the technician taken enough steps to prevent persons entering the area below the work area where there is a danger of someone being struck by falling objects?

  • Are they using any barricades or signs warning people of work area?

TRAINING & COMPETENCY.

  • Can the technician demonstrate that all persons carrying out work on the site have received appropriate training and instruction.

  • Correctly perform the work and use the equipment?

  • Correctly access and exit the roof/ceiling area?

  • Correctly wear PPE required to safely do the job?

  • Correctly implement all the controls noted on the JSA?

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS.

  • Can the technician demonstrate a process for responding to an emergency on site?

  • Can the technicians demonstrate their role in an emergency?

  • Does the technician have a First Aid Kit?- All contents still in date?

  • Is the technicians vehicle fitted with a fully charged fire extinguisher?

  • Does the technician have a copy of the emergency phone numbers?

  • Does the technician have all the required MSDS listed and in his Van Pack?

  • Is the technician in possession of a Vehicle Van Pack?

CUSTOMER SERVICE.

  • Did the technician introduce himself upon arrival?

  • Did the technician show his ID badge?

  • Did they explain what the work procedure would be?

  • We're they polite and courteous?

  • Did they leave any mess or rubbish behind?
