Kitchen and Meal Areas

  • Are eyewash stations and safety showers easily accessible and in good working order?

  • Are eyewash stations plumbed to allow for flushing of eyes for 20 minutes?

Ladders

  • Are there ladders stored and used in this area?

  • Are all ladders industrial strength? (Non-household rated, check label)

  • For extension ladders are ropes, pulleys and treads in good state of repair?

  • If used for electrical work are they non-conductive? ( Wood or fibreglass)

  • Are they in a clean and tidy state? Tools not in use put away?

  • Is there adequate space between the machines to allow for their safe operation?

  • Are flashback arresters installed on all oxygen and acetylene welding / cutting equipment?
