  • Fire extinguishers in place, properly mounted, charged, unobstructed, and inspected

  • PPE donned and used properly

  • Safety showers unobstructed, inspected (with sign-off), and tested

  • Breaker boxes are unobstructed?

  • "Visitor" safety glasses properly stocked

  • Respirators stored and maintained properly

Communication

  • Chemicals appropriately labeled with chemical name and hazard warning (NFPA)

  • Empty chemical bottles properly labeled

  • Personnel aware of location of PPE grid

  • Emergency numbers posted on or near phone

  • Contact info available for equipment storing biohazard materials (fridge, freezer, chamber, etc)

  • Radioactive samples are properly labeled (>4000 dpm/mL should be labeled)

  • Radioactive surveys are current

Hazardous Waste

  • Hazardous waste satellite accumulation containers appropriately labeled

  • All liquid containers labeled hazardous waste in secondary containment
