ALWAYS REMEMBER!

  • 1 - No exposed live parts

  • 2 - Make sure its metal parts are earthed3 -

  • 3 - Meggar it

  • 4 - Correct circuit protection

  • 5 - IP rating is correct

  • 6 - Do you have all testing equipment to carry out the "testing of an installation"?

TICK EACH ITEM BELOW WHEN COMPLETE

  • 1 - Consumer mains installed and terminations are tightened?

  • 2 - Ensure single core cable installed as to prevent eddy currents. (Not seperated through steel materials)

  • 3 - Main earth is installed the correct size, mechanically protected, exposed to weather & in site boundry and do not remove tag fitted. Ensure 2000mm away from W.P HV earthing and painted with galvanised paint.

  • 4 - All incoming cables to be protected from sharp edges i.e. Bushing or grommet strip.

  • 5 - Ensure all circuits breakers orientated the same way.

  • 6 - Ensure all mechanical enclosures are adequately earthed.

  • 7 - All neutral or earth cables run on series or parallel must be terminated in one connection.

  • 8 - MEM installed and labelled on link and escoutcheon if required. MEN to be same size as neutral, ensure continuity to enclosure.

  • 9 - Remove all meter fuses and meggar test switchboards - re-install fuses.

  • 10 - Ensure all CT shortout links are disconnected.

  • 11 - Test consumer mains & main earth & record results. Main earth > 0.5ohms / consumer > 1 M ohm should be greater than 2000M W.

  • 12 - Inspection of switchboards to ensure all connections are tight, clean and clear of foreign objects. Ensure no exposed live parts, and no spaces greater than 5mm on cable entries.

  • 13 - Check phase rotation.

  • 14 - Lockout main switch and fit danger tags as required.

  • 15 - Ensure all final sub circuits are labelled, including manufacturers connections.

  • 16 - Ensure all outgoing circuits disconnected or locked and tagged out, unless safe to energise.

  • 17 - Ensure 600mm access available with doors open.

  • 18 - Install out of service tag to SPD as required.

  • 19 - Check flash guards installed to line side consumer mains if over 800amps.

  • 20 - Install site plan on switchboard detailing location of consumer mains & main earth.

  • 21 - Label fitted to Essential Services main switches - IN THE EVENT OF FIRE , DO NOT SWITCH OFF

  • 22 - Check SPD and/or main switch overload protection has been set up "or arranged to be set" as per WP requirements.

  • 23 - Check circuit breaker overloads are set correctly as per SLD, where applicable.

  • 24 - Cable lugs are correctly crimped and heat shrink does not extrude onto palm of lug.

  • 25 - Ensure there are no obstructions between palm of lug and point of connection.
