Door Leaf

Hold open devices

  • Does any electronic hold open device release when the alarm sounds?

Lock and Latch

  • Does the latch hold the door firmly in place without rattles?

Glazing and Glass

  • Is the seal around any glazing continuous?

  • Are any glazing beads well attached to the frame and free of damage?

  • Is the glazing free of damage and cracks?

  • Is the glass fire rated (check for a pyroguard stamp)?

  • Is there a consistent gap under the door that allows it to swing without touching the floor?

Threshold gap

  • Is the floor to floor gap 10mm or less?

  • If drop down seals are fitted, are these secured firmly to the door?

Final Exit Fire Doors

  • Do door release systems immediately open the door?

  • If thumb screw turns are fitted, is signage showing way to turn clearly displayed?

  • Do doors open without any obstructions?

  • If break glass bolts are fitted, are these tested periodically for opening and hammers are secured on a chain?
