What is the condition of the Door, Frame and securing wall?

What is the condition of the letterbox?

What is the condition of the glazing?

What is the condition of the hinges, locks and other Ironmongery?

Open the door and take a look at the hinges. If there are any screws missing or the hinge is damaged - this must be reported as Poor and an Action raised

What is the condition of the door gaps?

Door gaps at the top and side shouldn't be more than 4mm - use a £1 as a guide because it's 3mm thick. (the gap at the bottom of the door can be up to 8mm depending on the door type).

What is the condition of the strips and seals?

Take a look at the intumescent strips on the door and frame. These will expand during a fire and reduce any smoke getting through the gaps.

What is the condition of the self closer?

Open the door about halfway and then let it close to check the self closer. If this has been tampered with or the door is wedged open, this causes fire to spread a lot faster through a building.
