  • How many fire extinguishers are currently on site?

  • Fire extinguisher ID number(s)

  • Location of fire extinguisher(s)

  • Attach photographs, Inc labels, tags, signage and security pins

  • What are the fire extinguisher types currently in use on site?

  • Are the fire extinguishers in use suitable for their intended use should a fire occur?

  • Are the fire extinguishers in their designated locations? I.e. hung on the cutting station/in their stand?

  • Are the fire extinguishers clearly visible and easily accessible?

  • Are the operating instructions on the extinguishers clean, free from dirt/grease or obstruction and legible?

  • Are the inspection labels visible and in date? (If not attached to the extinguisher itself then are the inspection records complete and up to date stored on file)

  • Are there any signs of tampering or damage? I.e. are the tamper indicators, seals pressure gauge, nozzle and pins intact?

  • Are there signs that any of the fire extinguishers have been used? I.e. pin pulled, seal broken, discharge on the hose or nozzle of the extinguisher?

  • Is the pressure rating on the pressure gauge or indicator on the extinguishers within the green safety limit?

  • Is there any damage or wear to any of the extinguishers? This could be in the form of missing parts, dents, rust, scratches or gouges on the cylinder, excessive dirt on valves and pressure gauges, corrosion or leakages, clogged nozzle or wand (wet chemical extinguishers), frayed or split hose, cracked or split horn (CO2 extinguishers)
