  • Are the communal areas and escape routes clear of obstructions? (Rubbish/ plastic flowers/ mobility scooters/ prams/ bikes/ recycling boxes etc.)<br>

  • Take photo of tort notice if applicable

  • Are all external communal doors (inc fire escape doors) secure, fully operational and free from obstructions?

  • What is the issue?

  • Do communal fire doors close fully (doors with closers must close under own force), free from damage and have appropriate signage?

  • Are all communal service cupboards, store rooms etc. locked and clear internally?

  • What is the issue?

  • Take photo of tort notice if applicable

  • Does all communal lighting appear to be working correctly ?

  • What is the issue?

  • Do all emergency lights operate on flick test

  • Are all flat front doors free from damage externally?

  • What is the issue?

  • Are emergency lighting and fire alarm (if applicable) log books being completed at the the required intervals? - emergency lighting (monthly flick test & yearly 3 hour test) - fire alarm (weekly bell test & 6 monthly service)
