Impairment form
-
The impairment form located on the Safety Management System must be utilised for any impairment of the fire alarm/detection system and fire suppression/sprinkler systems. Regular reviews of the use of the impairment process must be implemented as part of the H&S inspection regime using the mini audit KSR and toolkit process. Has the site had no requirement of use for the impairment process for the month?
-
Signage - Fire Exits Internal and External
-
Current legal directional escape signage is provided to allow means of escape from all areas of the site. Signs are maintained in good condition and can be read easily. A sign is visible indicating the required direction at all times. One sample area per month (1. Main building 1st floor, 2. CB, 3. Despatch, 4. Hall 1, 5. Hall 2, 6. Hall 3, 7. Manufacturing, 8. External, 9. Vehicle Workshop, 10. Uncured, 11. Engineering Workshop, 12. Security Hut)

Where a means of escape has an external fire escape route from a different floor the initial landing must have at least 1 metre landing (3 feet) before the beginning of the first step, is in good condition, and should be appropriately protected to prevent falls from heights. The route from the foot of the external Final Exit Fire Door to a final place of safety must be free from slip or trip hazards, unobstructed and free from vegetation. Where a step down from the external Final Exit Fire Door exceeds 170mm additional measures must be undertaken to ensure the free flow of escape. This may involve ramps, steps etc. Is this followed?

Where a means of escape has an external fire escape route from a different floor the initial landing must have at least 1 metre landing (3 feet) before the beginning of the first step, is in good condition, and should be appropriately protected to prevent falls from heights. The route from the foot of the external Final Exit Fire Door to a final place of safety must be free from slip or trip hazards, unobstructed and free from vegetation. Where a step down from the external Final Exit Fire Door exceeds 170mm additional measures must be undertaken to ensure the free flow of escape. This may involve ramps, steps etc. Is this followed?

Where a means of escape has an external fire escape route from a different floor the initial landing must have at least 1 metre landing (3 feet) before the beginning of the first step, is in good condition, and should be appropriately protected to prevent falls from heights. The route from the foot of the external Final Exit Fire Door to a final place of safety must be free from slip or trip hazards, unobstructed and free from vegetation. Where a step down from the external Final Exit Fire Door exceeds 170mm additional measures must be undertaken to ensure the free flow of escape. This may involve ramps, steps etc. Is this followed?
