  • Does the location have current material safety data sheets (MSDS) for products (by brand) sample (5) and are they easily accessible?

  • Is the shop clean and are tools & equipment kept picked up?

  • Are there trash containers and do they appear to be emptied regularly?

  • Is there any spilled paint around the paint booth area?

  • Is the area free of tripping hazards?

  • Is the rubber buffing area clean?

  • Are there any emissions of blue smoke or particulates from the trailer or cyclone exhaust?

General facility & storage

  • Do all overhead storage area have railings that are 42 inches (107 cm) with a 21 inch (54 cm) mid rail?

  • Are all changed in elevation over 6 inches (15 cm) painted yellow to mark their location?

  • Are the stairs and hand rails in good condition?

  • Are the rubber racks and inside storage areas clean?

  • Are all areas well lighted? Are al light fixtures working?

  • Do all light fixtures/bulbs have the proper cover, cage or screens in place?

  • Are the aisles between rows of rubber wide enough to allow good access?

  • Are all fire extinguishers sample (10) identified by proper signage?

  • Are all fire extinguishers sample (10) service annually and inspected monthly?

  • Are all doors leading outside of the building properly identified as an exit?

  • Are all exits unlocked and unblocked during normal business hours?

  • Are all safety devices on the plant machinery and are they operational?

  • Is the buffer operator using hearing protection including ear plugs or ear muffs?

  • Do all bench grinders have the guard in place and the gap no greater than 1/8th inch. Are face shields available?

  • Is everyone using and or wearing the personal safety equipment furnished to them by the company when in the plant area? Safety glasses must have side shields

  • Does the plant have and are they using a lock -out - tag-out system?
