Fire/Life Safety

Portable Compressed Gas Cylinders

Chemical Safety

General Chemical Safety

  • Current SDS/MSDS sheets for all chemicals and hazardous substances are accessible to all affected employees. [1910.1200] {6.1}

  • All chemicals are properly labeled with a product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals, and which, in conjunction with the other information available to employees, will provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical.   • Chemicals are dated when opened, or received, as appropriate (Peroxide forming agents in particular - 6 month maximum retention). [1910.1200, NFPA 45-9.2.3.4] {6.3}

  • Chemical storage containers are in good condition, not degraded and with their lids on securely when not in immediate use. [1910.1200, 1910.1450] {6.4}

Ergonomics

Laboratories

General Lab Safety
