  • This audit must be completed PRIOR to any work commencing on site.

Site Set Up

  • All construction activities can be isolated from any person living or undertaking a business on the site

  • The site will be kept clean and tidy with good access in case of emergencies

  • All workers coming on site will be inducted and will sign in and out

  • All services (power, gas, water, waste) are tagged or isolated by licensed contractors

  • First Aid and other emergency equipment is in a clearly designated area which is easily accessible

  • All rooms/areas not being worked on are isolated

  • Welfare areas (toilets, kitchen etc) will be used within the existing property

Project

  • Building age is considered and if pre 1990, asbestos and lead paint have been tested by licensed contractors where applicable

  • Dust is controlled using appropriate methods

  • Noisy operations are carried out 7am to 5pm as per regulations

  • Existing structure will be partially or totally dismantled and we are competent to support the structure

  • All workers requiring supervision are known and will be supervised

  • Any hazardous materials used/situations arising will be identified on the Hazard Registers

  • We can competently use, store and control all materials and substances on site

  • Only competent workers will work at height ensuring fall safety of themselves and materials

  • Moving heavy materials around site using 25kg rule or lifting equipment

Health and Safety

  • Task Analysis for high risk work have been completed specific to this site and all workers are familiar with them

  • The Hazard Substances/Activities form has been completed

  • The site is in close proximity to emergency services and workers know where these are.

  • First Aid and other emergency equipment onsite have been checked and found to be complete and in good working order

  • Appropriate PPE for the work being undertaken is available and is worn by all workers on site

Responsibility Checklist

  • The Site Foreman is responsible for the operational safety of the site including: Ensuring safe work practices at all times Creating Task Analysis for all work Conducting inductions and toolbox talks Complete all documentation required Supervise the work and the staff as required Make safety decisions as required Provide Training as required Report all incidents immediately

These responsibilities include: Ensure safe practices are implemented and followed by all persons on site Ensure all tasks are completed without risk to any person on site Review and ensure SSSP is implemented on site Ensure workers have a means to communicate and consult on H&S matters and respond in a timely fashion
