Subcontractor Responsibilities (PCBU)

• All persons conducting a business or undertaking at a workplace (PCBU) have a primary duty of care to ensure so far as reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers engaged by the person, and all other persons are not put at risk from work carried out by the PCBU.

Mandatory Uniform & Licenses:

• AS 4602 Hi Vis Clothing, Long Sleeved Shirt, Jacket or Vest

• Suitable Safety Footwear AS/NZ 2210

• CPCCWHS100 - Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) or State equivalent obtained after 01/01/2012

• RIIWHS204D - Work Safely at Heights Certificate attainment and license and/or an online refresher course within the last five years.

• MEM15004B - Completion of Height Safety Equipment Inspection Training course (Perform Inspection)

• 20 million Pubic Liability Insurance certificate of currency

• Drivers License

• Enable Card

• All primary subcontractors who employ workers (as employees, trades assistants, sub-subcontractors or offsiders) must ensure they have undertaken training in administering first aid HLTAID003 training through a registered RTO

Mandatory General Safety PPE:

• First Aid kit must comply with First Aid in the work place Code of practice 2018 - First Aid contents covered in HTS001 & HTS005 Audits

• Hard Hat AS/NZ 1800 Must be replaced every 3 years

• 4 x Reflective Safety Cones or Exclusion Barriers

• Asbestos Kit (Hills Supplied)

Sub-contractor Vehicle:

• Current Drivers License

• Suitable work vehicle capable of carrying ladders, tools and equipment

• Vehicle in road worthy condition

Mandatory Electrical Safety:

• AC/DC Volt Stick (Mandatory)

• Approved Electrical Services Locator

• Lock Out Device/Tags

• 1.8m - 2.1 m Step Ladder Industrial Rated 120kg or higher that complies with Australian Standard AS/NZ 1892 Portable Ladders (2.1m Fiberglass highly recommended)

• 3.7m - 6.5m Extension Ladder Industrial Rated 120kg or higher that complies with Australian Standard AS/NZ 1892 Portable Ladders (4.2m - 7.4m Fiberglass highly recommended)

First Aid Kit Contents

• You must have access to First Aid, it is mandatory to carry a First Aid kit in your subcontractor vehicle, the First Aid kit must comply with "First Aid in the workplace, Code of practice 2018"
  The first aid kit should provide basic equipment for administering first aid for injuries including:
  Cuts, scratches, punctures, grazes and splinters, muscular sprains and strains, minor burns, amputations and/or major bleeding wounds, broken bones, eye injuries and shock.
  Confirm the quantity of the below items, you must carry the minimum amounts as set in the Code of Practice.

• Instructions for providing first aid—including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) flow chart (1)

• Resuscitation face mask or face shield (1)

• Disposable nitrile examination gloves (nitrile is a latex-free rubber suitable for people with latex allergies) (5 Pairs)

• Gauze pieces 7.5 x 7.5 cm, sterile 3 per pack (5 Packs)

• Saline, 15 ml (8)

• Wound cleaning wipe, single 1% Cetrimide BP (10)

• Adhesive dressing strips—plastic or fabric, packet of 50 (1)

• Splinter probes, single use, disposable (10)
