    It is a WHS requirement that a Pre-start toolbox is conducted with all persons attending site, a Risk Assessment is completed for every task, this is done before a job is started.
    This will be separate to any site specific inductions that may be required.
    The subcontractor will complete this audit in full and all evidence that is collected such as photos and comments made by the new subcontractor will be documented.

Subcontractor Responsibilities (PCBU)

  • All persons conducting a business or undertaking at a workplace (PCBU) have a primary duty of care to ensure so far as reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers engaged by the person, and all other persons are not put at risk from work carried out by the PCBU.

  • Please take a photo of Safety Footwear - AS/NZS 2210 and Hi Vis Clothing - AS4602

  • Check the sub-contractor is carrying a signed copy of all the latest version of the HTS SWMS and relevant MSDS (Mandatory)

  • Sub-contractor must carry a copy of the relevant SWMS and MSDS and provide on request, please advise the Sub-contractor to download these documents from the Contractor Portal.

  • Ask the contractor if they know how to access all Hills documents? Manual Work Orders, Consent Forms, Deed of Release forms etc. (Mandatory) <br>All are available in the download section of the Contractor Portal.

  • Advise Sub-Contractor that all forms are available for download from the contractor portal and that they should carry & have an adequate number of manual paperwork to complete an installation if Journey is unavailable, please advise the Sub-contractor to download these forms from the Contractor Portal.

  • Does the Sub-contractor have an off-sider or another contractor working with them on this site?

  • Is the 2nd person authorised to be onsite?<br>Has a risk assessment has been carried out for the 2nd person and logged in Journey? <br>Do they have an Enable Card and are they known to HTS - QT to ask and check

  • QA fail this inspection, ask the non authorised person to leave site and notify HCS of this breach

Electrical Safety

  • Is the contractor aware of the mandatory Electrical Safety laws including electrical lockout when completing one of the following tasks? - Accessing a cavity or under a house, pulling cables through a cavity, drilling / penetrating into a ceiling, roof or walls, or accessing a metal roof.

  • Please refer the contractor to the contractor portal Training Manual 25 - Electrical Hazards

  • Confirm the sub-contractor is carrying electrical lock out Kit, contractor must have access to an Electrical Lock Out Kit that is reusable:<br>Lock out kits must contain the minimum following items.<br>- 1 x Mini CB/Residential Lockout<br>- 1 x Non-Conductive Lock<br>- 1 x Labelled Lockout Tag that includes at a minimum Tags, Locks and ? - (Mandatory)

  • This is a critical WHS fail. Please advise contractor they will receive a CAR notice directing them to purchase lock out tags.

  • Please take photograph of the Electrical Lock Out Kit

  • Confirm the contractor is carrying a Volt Stick and approved Electrical Services Locator - Approved list is on the contractor portal (Mandatory)

  • Mark audit as not compliant and advise quality to raise a CAR notice with the contractor to purchase these items

  • Are the Sub-contractors 1.8m - 2.1m Step Ladder & 3.7m Extension Ladders in good condition? - (Mandatory)

  • Advise the Sub-contractor to have their faulty Ladder serviced or replaced

Height Safety

First Aid Kit Contents

  • You must have access to First Aid, it is mandatory to carry a First Aid kit in your subcontractor vehicle, the First Aid kit must comply with "First Aid in the workplace, Code of practice 2018"
    The first aid kit should provide basic equipment for administering first aid for injuries including:
    Cuts, scratches, punctures, grazes and splinters, muscular sprains and strains, minor burns, amputations and/or major bleeding wounds, broken bones, eye injuries and shock.
    Confirm the quantity of the below items, you must carry the minimum amounts as set in the Code of Practice.

  • First Aid kit should contain the following items:
    Instructions for providing first aid—including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) flow chart (1)
    Resuscitation face mask or face shield (1)
    Disposable nitrile examination gloves (nitrile is a latex-free rubber suitable for people with latex allergies) (5 Pairs)
    Gauze pieces 7.5 x 7.5 cm, sterile 3 per pack (5 Packs)
    Saline, 15 ml (8)
    Wound cleaning wipe, single 1% Cetrimide BP (10)
    Adhesive dressing strips—plastic or fabric, packet of 50 (1)
    Splinter probes, single use, disposable (10)
    Tweezers/forceps (1)
    Antiseptic liquid/spray 50 ml (1)
    Non-adherent wound dressing/pad 5 x 5 cm (small) (6)

  • Is a First Aid Kit carried in a sub-contractors vehicle? <br>First Aid kit must comply with First Aid in the work place Code of practice 2020<br>Auditor must visually inspect First Aid kit to Ensure compliance with Code of Practice and minimum quantities - Advise contractor to restock any missing items.
