  • Are all persons on site aware of the procedure if they become ill while at work?

  • Are contractors Covid-19 site specific RAMS in the site file and have all their workers been briefed and signed for these documents?

  • Are contractors working in line with their Covid-19 site specific RAMS and Derby Homes operating procedure?

  • Are the 2 metre markers being actively managed and maintained in communal areas and at site access and egress points?

  • Are start, finish and break times being managed on site correctly?

  • Are hand washing facilities (water, soap, towels, sanitiser) being managed with a sufficient stock available for the number of people on site?

  • Is the site cabin along with surfaces and facilities (kettles, door handles, microwaves, taps, toilets, etc.) being cleaned between use and at regular intervals? Detail where you have seen this being recorded.<br><br>Note: The cleanliness of the site must be of a high standard and maintained at all times.

  • Are the toilets and the site cabin being cleaned every other day by Derby City Council?

  • Are all control measures detailed in the site specific Covid-19 risk assessment being complied with and actively managed on site?

Site Housekeeping

  • Are there clear designated pedestrian walkways?

  • Are there areas for materials storage?

  • Is fuel being stored correctly i.e. suitable container, well ventilated, labelled, etc...?

  • Is dust being adequately controlled on site?

  • Is the site accessible, kept tidy with no materials or debris causing a trip/slip hazard?

  • Is an enclosed skip available? Is it secured at the end of each day/shift?

  • Is waste removed regularly, transferred to the skips and not allowed to build up or overflow on site?

Excavations

  • Are excavations protected to prevent people, plant and materials from falling in?

  • Is there safe access and egress for the excavation?

  • Is there adequate support/propping or has the excavation been sloped/battered back?

Site Traffic

  • Are there traffic management arrangements in place and are they updated where necessary as the site progresses?

  • Does the plan identify seperate pedestrian and vehicle routes where possible?

  • Are site vehicles parked considerately, not obstructing pavements, driveways or road?

  • Are obstacles such as excavations and scaffolds clearly marked or protected?

  • Does any plant need a marshall and if so, is there one present?

  • Are flashing beacons working on all plant?

  • Is there a speed limit on site and is it obeyed?

Work at Height

  • Scaffold

  • Are weekly inspection reports being carried out, records kept in the site folder and the scaffold tag updated?

  • Is the scaffold on solid even ground, not undermined and with sole boards and base plates?

  • Are all standards plumb, not joined at the same height, correctly spaced and free from damage?

  • Are all ledgers level, not joined in the same bay, secure and free from damage?

  • Is there sufficent ledger and facade bracing and are they secure with the correct fittings?

  • Have the right fittings been used and are they secure and free from damage?

  • Are there a sufficient amount of ties and are they secure and free from damage?

  • Are boards in good condition, secured and cover the whole working platform?

  • Are stored materials evenly distributed on scaffold platforms and not excessive or above guardrails?

  • Are guardrails and toe boards the correct height, all in place, secure and free from damage?

  • Are gates and trap doors installed correctly, in good working order and closed when not in use?

  • Are ladders the sufficient length, tied and free from damage?

  • Mobile Tower Scaffold

  • Is the scaffold fit for prupose and being used correctly?

  • Is a scaffold tag in place and up to date?

  • Ladders, Steps and Podiums

  • Are ladders used only as a means of access, except for short duration work?

  • Are ladders, steps and podiums free from damage?

  • Do all ladders, steps and podiums have an up to date inspection sticker?

Plant, Tools & Work Equipment

  • Are all plant, tools and equipment suitable for their purpose?

  • Are weekly plant inspection reports being completed?

  • Is the operators license on file?

  • Is there up to date service/maintenance records for the plant?

  • Are all tools and equipment PAT where necessary?

  • Are tools and equipment in good condition?

Overall Site Safety
