Plumbing Valve Exercises (counter-clockwise then clockwise)

  • Exercise kitchen hot water and cold water valves

  • Exercise dishwasher hot water valve

  • Allow water heater to fully drain

  • Close water heater drain valve and remove hose

  • Open cold water valve and allow water heater to fill

  • Turn off hot water spigots inside house

  • Return natural gas pilot valve to run

  • Bleed remaining air out of water pipes by turning hot water spigots on inside house

  • Inspect water heater to ensure no leaks at drain valve and that water heater is operating properly

  • Clean or replace filters

  • Perform computer backups
