Precautionary measures (50 feet)

  • The equipment used to perform the hot work has been verified and is good working order?

Fire Watch Attendant

  • The fire watch attendant is qualified and trained?

  • Fire watch has received a hands on training on fire extinguisher, his familiar with the activation of the alarm and is qualified to stop the job when it becomes hazardous.

  • Have fire extinguishing equipment readily available?

  • Remain at the work site to check for smoldering fires while work is in progress and for at least 60 minutes following job completion?

Final Check

  • Continuous fire watch monitoring the hot work area for three more hours after the fire watch has been completed the 60 minutes following job completion?

  • Part 2 Fire monitoring (3 hrs) must be signed and finish time to be specified?

  • A final check was performed 4 hours after work completion?

  • Part 2 shall be signed by the person completing the final check and returned to the permit issuer or designee.
