  • Are all electrical cords taped or secured so they are not a trip hazard?

  • Is general housekeeping on the site maintained daily?

  • Are all holes covered or guarded and clearly marked?

  • Are all work areas, tool storage, equipment, and lay-down areas properly secured?

  • Do all fenced areas have "no trespassing" signs posted on perimeter fencing?

  • Are all emergency exits clearly established?

Fall Protection and Elevated Work

  • Are workers within 10 feet of leading edge (>6' fall to next level) wearing harness and tether to approved attachment point (5400 lbs cap.)?

  • Are all harnesses and lanyards inspected BEFORE use?

  • Are all employees wearing a harness and lanyard, tied off to an appropriate lifeline, four (4) foot or higher above ground?

  • Do all excavations 2 foot or deeper have proper barricades around them?

  • Are all excavations properly benched or sloped?

  • Are only qualified employees permitted to operate welding equipment?

  • Are check valves on regulators?

  • Are all propane containers NOT IN USE stored outside the building?

Powered Lifts, Cranes, and Rigging

  • Do all operators of powered lifts have appropriate and current (w/in 3 years) license to operate that equipment and verified?

  • Are all operations clear, >=10 ft., of all power lines?

  • Are tag lines being used?

  • Are slings inspected before each lift?

  • Are damaged slings discarded?

  • Are all scissor lift chains in place?

  • Are all feet planted on the platforms of the lifts (I.e. not on railings)?

  • Articulating boom and mobile platforms attached to lifts: are harnesses being used, properly worn and properly tethered?
