Pre Activity Assessment

  • PRE ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS & DECLARATION BY LEARNER

  • During this practical assessment, you will be guiding an adventure based activity with a group. My role as assessor is to confirm you are meeting the outcomes of this skills program. In most cases I will just observe, but if I feel someone may get hurt, or I do not understand why you are doing something a certain way, I will stop the activity and discuss this with you. This does not mean you automatically are not competent, but just that I need to know why you are doing something the way you are. You may have perfectly valid reasons for doing it this way.

In addition I may ask you questions during the activity to make sure you have the right knowledge behind the practice. Again do not think of this negatively – I ask questions to help me understand your thinking.

  • The Assessment strategy was available to me.

  • I declare that I am satisfied with the pre assessment process and that all my queries have been answered and that the assessment process can go ahead.

  • I have read and accept the Assessment Plan & the Assessment and Appeals process has been explained to me.
