1. SITE SAFETY

  • Is material and tool storage acceptable?

  • Are the working areas clear and tidy?

  • If waste has been produced, has it been disposed of correctly?

  • Are waste areas/skips tidy?

  • Are working areas protected from the public, with clear signage if in public space?

2. HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Are the COSHH storage areas / COSHH handling practices acceptable?

  • Are there spill kits available?

  • If noise is required to be minimised: Is noise being minimised?

  • If dust is required to be minimised: Is dust being minimised?

  • If chemical fumes are required to be controlled: Are chemical fumes being controlled?

  • If vibration is required to be minimised: Is vibration being minimised?

3. FIRST AID

  • Do the sub-contractors have a fully stocked first aid kit onsite?

  • Do the sub-contractors have eyewash kit?

4. FIRE PRECAUTIONS

  • Do the sub-contractors have fire extinguishers onsite and in date?

5. ASBESTOS & SIDS

  • Have operatives completed asbestos awareness training?

  • Are safe systems of work being used?

6. ELECTRICITY

  • If electric tools are being used: Is any 240v usage authorised?

  • If electric tools are being used: Is any 110v set-up good?

  • If electric tools are being used: Are all 110v tools good and PAT tested?

  • If electric tools are being used: Are cables tidy and organised?

  • If Generator is being used: Is generator in good condition?

7. LEAD DRILLER / TECHNICIAN

  • Does the lead sub-contractor understand their responsibilities?

  • If problems have occurred has the lead sub-contractor reported them?

  • Is the lead sub-contractor controlling all on site effectively?

8. SUB-CONTRACTORS PPE

  • Are sub-contractors wearing correct PPE?

  • Do sub-contractors have CSCS cards onsite?

  • Are sub-contractors wearing eye and hearing protection where neccesary?

  • If required, do sub-contractors have emergency PPE avaliable?

9. MACHINES RIGS & LIFTING EQUIPMENT:

  • Does Excavator / Drilling Rig(s) appear to be in good condition?

  • Are Excavator / Drilling Rig service records present?

  • If required: Are LOLER certificates present and in date?

  • Are hand tools and associated equipment in good order?

  • Are the correct tools for the job present?

10. PERFORMANCE

  • Are sub-contractors being courteous and considerate?

  • Have the neighbouring land owners been unaffected?

  • Has work been carried out to a good standard?

  • Are all sub-contractors working in a safe manner with no evidence of horseplay?

11. OVERALL

  • Has the site been left in a tidy manner?

  • If any fuel / hydraulic leaks have occurred, have they been appropriately dealt with?
