Mechanical Lifting Checklist

  • Loading conforms to company and DOT codes?

Lift Card / Simple Lift Check List

  • Do you know the weight of the load?

  • Has this type of lift been performed before?

  • Is the load readily accessible by available lifting appliances and is it in a straight lift?

  • Does the load have certified lifting points or slings wrapped around without any hazards?

  • Is there enough headroom for lifting appliance and slings?

  • Is the load stable, center of gravity (CG) below lifting points?

  • Is the lift balanced with the help of customized lifting arrangements?

  • Is load path and landing areas clear of obstructions? Access to other personnel restricted?

  • Are you experienced with all lifting equipment to be utilized?

  • Are environmental conditions with acceptable parameters?

  • Has the lift been inspected for potential dropped objects?
