INSPECTION ITEMS: PASS / FAIL STATUS.

  • Operating and emergency controls (EMO button and/or Emergency Stop Device)

  • Upper drive controls interlock mechanism.

  • Foot pedal.

  • Spring lock.

  • Two hand controls.

  • Lower operating controls properly overriding the upper controls.

  • Emergency lowering function.

  • Protection from inadvertent operation to both upper and lower controls.

  • Control panel must be clean, buttons/ switches must be visible.

  • Switches and mechanical guards must be properly installed, must be in good condition.

  • Safety light indicators.

  • Drive controls must work properly.

  • Drive controls to be properly/accurately labeled.

  • Motion alarm.

  • Safety decals must be legible and in place.

  • Guard rails must be sound and in place including basket chains.

  • Working platform and extension slides must be clean and dry.

  • Working platform extension must slide in and out freely and easily.

  • Safety locking pins must be in place to lock setting on models with extension platform.

  • MEWP must be in a good order, without cracks, welds, fuel leaks, hydraulic leaks, damaged control cables or wire harness, etc.

  • Tyres and wheels must be in a good condition with adequate air pressure if pneumatic.

  • Braking devices must operate properly.

  • Grounding strap must be attached and must be reaching to the ground.

  • The manufacturer's operations manual must be stored on MEWP.
