Preparations for Sparging

  • Checks that the storage bund and pad is free of rubbish before entering the truck parking pad

  • Checks that the overflow lutes of both tanks are full of water

  • Checks the sparge pump gear box for sufficient oil

  • Checks the operation of all safety showers and eyewash for a minimum of 5 seconds

Connecting the Sparge Hoses to the Sparge Isotainer Note: A standby person must be present for the hose connection and sparge operatin

  • Wears correct PPE

  • Check both sparge hoss for cleanliness, damage and date of manufacture

  • Opens the sparge inlet hose and outlet hsedrain valve

  • Ensures the sparge isotainer valves are closed handles are to face upwards

  • Ensures both hose camlocks fittings are secured and fully seated

  • Cut and remove seals from camlocks and and valve handles on the sparge isotainer male connection points

  • Removes the male camlock cap from the sparge isotainer outlet valve and remove the sparge outlet hose from the parking station (checks the seal is in place inside the female camlock and not damaged) and engage to the sparge isotainer male camlock.

  • Closes the sparge hose outlet drain valveand opens the sparge hose valve then the sparge outlet valve to allow pressure build up to be discharged

  • Removes the female camlck cap from the sparge isotainer outlet valve and remove the sparge inlet hose from the parking station (checks the seal is in place inside the female camlock and that it is not damaged) and engage to the spaRGE ISOTAINER MALE CAMLOCK

  • Once hose is connected closes the drain valve and opens the sparge inlet hose valve

  • Checks PID screen to show that valves are open

Sparging

  • Selects SPARGE-START from main overview screen

  • Ensures pump seal water is flowing ( water should be continually from the Dissolving tank over flow lute)

  • Selects SPARGE-START from main overview screen

Draining the Sparge Isotainer

  • Selects drain start on man operation screen

  • Monitors the draining operation via the sparge pump amps ( Can be read on both operating screens)

Check Cyanide is Fully Dissolved and all Liquid Drained

  • Opens the sparge hose drain valves and checks wether sparge is empty

Disconnecting the Sparge Hoses from the Sparge Isotainer

  • Wears correct PPE standby person present

  • Closes sparge inlet hose valve

  • Closes sparge outlet hose valve

  • Ensures sparge isotainer inlet valve open

  • Ensures sparge isotainer outlet valve open

  • Opens sparge inlet hose drain valve

  • Opens sparge outlet hose drain valve

  • Ensures inlet and outlet hoses are free of liquid

  • Closes sparge isotainer inlet valve

  • Closes sparge isotainer outlet valve

  • Ensures sparge inlet and outlet hose drain valves are open

  • Returns the hoses to the parking station

  • Washes down the truck, camlocks and couplings and an spills on the pad area replace camlock caps on the sparge isotainer
