Vehicle details

  • Vehicle Registration:

  • Make of Vehicle

  • All checks must be conducted monthly. Any issues with the vehicle must be reported to your Line Manager immediately. If you answer No to any of the questions a comment must be made

Checks

  • (You can get 3 points on your licence for every faulty tyre)

  • (Use a 20p coin and put in the tread of the tyre. If you cannot see the the number 20 the tyres need changing see image opposite)

TYRES

  • Tyres have a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm

  • Are the tyres correctly inflated (check each tyre)

  • There are no deep cuts to the sidewall or slow punctures

  • No Missing or insecure wheel nuts

Lighting

  • All lights and indicators work correctly

  • The brake lights and hazard lights work correctly

  • All dashboard warning lights are working correctly

Glass and Mirrors

  • All mirrors should be properly aligned and secure

  • Your view of the road in all directions is not obstructed

Washers and wipers

  • Wipers move continually when switched on

  • Wiper blades are not so deteriorated that they don't clear the windscreen effectively when used with the washers

  • Washers are pointed at the windscreen and are operational

  • Washer fluid is topped up ( if required)

Brakes

  • Foot and hand brake work

Horn and steering

  • The steering wheel easily controls the car

  • The horn is easily accessible from the drivers seat and the horn sounds when operated

Seats and seatbelts

  • Check the seats are secure

  • Seatbelts are operating correctly and are free from damage

Fluids, Fuel and oil

  • Check the fuel filler cap is securely fitted

  • Check there are no fluid leaks by looking for puddles on the floor

Body work and doors

  • Check all doors shut properly and are secure when closed

Check first aid kit

  • Check contents against guidance sheet

Safety Equipment

  • Fire extinguisher

  • Warning triangle

  • Torch

  • High Visibility Jacket

  • Life hammer

  • Tyre depth and pressure gauge

  • Ice scrapper

  • Is the vehicle road worthy:

  • (if no store the vehicle safely and do not use until fixed)
