Forklift pre-use equipment

  • Visual Check for damage, bent, dented or broken parts.

  • Fuel & Oil Levelscheck there is sufficient fuel by reading gauge.Dip for oil, if low take to maintenance.

  • Water / Coolant Levels check there is water in radiator and levels between min and max.

  • Fork Arms ensure they are not bent damaged or cracked.

  • Mast ensure there is no visible damage or defects.

  • Mast Rollers ensure they are rolling ok and the bearings are working correctly.

  • Lift Chains ensure the tension is even and the links are in good condition with the link pins not rotated.

  • Chain Pulleys ensure they are running ok.

  • Seat Belt ensure the seatbelt is in good working order.

  • Hydraulics ensure there are no oil leaks and the steering and lifting is functioning correctly.

  • Wheels check the wheel nuts are tightened securely.

  • Tyres check for damage to tyre walls, rips or tears.

  • External Condition ensure it is free from damage or defects.

  • Operator's Seat ensure it is secure and in good condition.

  • Steps ensure they are in good condition and free from anything which would cause slips and trips.

  • Lights / Flashing Beacon ensure it is working correctly.

  • Audible Warnings ensure the reverse siren and horn are working correctly.

  • Brakes ensure the brakes are working test before use.

  • Steering ensure the steering is functioning correctly.

  • Housekeeping: vehicle clean, tidy and free from litter, debris and unnecessary parts, antibacterial wipes

  • Other: Fire Extinguisher - good condition, in date, full/charged contents?
