  • Note when the rooms are using the playground for a joint session all areas are to be checked.

  • Date & Time Conducted

  • Raining - yard not used

  • For first daily check confirm no disturbances in the sand pit are identified. Where disturbance exists the pit will need to be raked for recovery of any foreign matter

  • All areas free from rubbish

  • Area checked for syringes, glass or other dangerous items

  • All fences and gates are secured

  • No equipment is located close to fences or gates to allow climbing toddlers access Use the Laser Measure available from office to ensure correct distance is set where required

  • Emergency exits are clear and accessible

  • All equipment has been checked for proper use and is safe & appropriate

  • Storage area has been closed and secured

  • Note of any repairs or rectification of areas needed

  • Photograph of areas needing rectification

  • Area has been checked and verified by two personnel and confirmed by signature

  • Area has been checked and verified by two personnel and confirmed by signature

  • UV rating checked for appropriateness for outside play, rating and chart from the SunSmart app on the iPads

  • UV Rating designated at 3 or below - outside play conducted without protection as agreed with the responsible person

  • Confirmation that sunscreen has been applied to all children

  • Time sunscreen applied

  • Signed as having applied sunscreen to all children before proceeding outside
