  • Electrics – Visually check plug and appliances for general wear and tear

  • Doors – Check finger guards are in place and in good repair

  • Floors - ensure floor is dry and clean

  • Trip hazards - Ensure clothes, bags etc. are off the floor and neatly stored away

  • Ensure rope/string/cords are tied up and not hanging within children’s reach

  • Ensure sensory and water is changed at start of every day

  • Ensure sand is clean and change regularly

  • Remove any broken resources, furniture or equipment

  • All hazardous solutions put away and out of reach of children

  • Every food item is covered and labelled, out-of-date food is thrown away and fridge is clean

  • All toys and resources are set and re-stocked where necessary

  • All soft furnishings (sofas, cushions, rugs) are clean and tidy

Toilets daily checklist

  • Sinks, toilets, sides & the floor cleanliness is maintained throughout the day | When the floor is mopped a wet floor sign must be put out |

  • Bins must be emptied daily

  • Floor - Ensure floor is dry and clean

  • All hazardous solutions put away and out of reach of children

  • Doors - Check finger guards are in place and in good repair

  • Shelves - Ensure nothing is hanging off and all items are securely stored and out of children’s reach

  • Re-stocking - Ensure nappies, wipes, aprons, gloves, soap, hand towels, blue roll and toilet roll are replenished, cleaning products and cloths are readily available

Garden/outdoor areas daily checklist

  • Check fence is in good repair

  • Check gates are secure

  • Check for any loose bark/exposed epicorns on tree trunk & remove/smooth over. Remove any low hanging branches that may cause injury

  • Thoroughly check for any unwanted objects i.e. litter, branches, animal feces...etc

  • Ensure water is clean and replace at the start of every day, Check sand at the start of the day and change when needed

  • Check for any spiky plants and nettles and remove of them

  • Any additional Health and Safety issues identified

  • Signature
