Before Carrying Out Inspections

  • Do all inspectors have the necessary PPE and Face Masks (if applicable)?

  • Have all the necessary permits been reviewed and signed and has a STOP assessment been carried out?

  • Do you have all the necessary tooling and inspection equipment to carry out the job correctly?

Clean-down Process

  • Has a clean-down been carried out at the end of the night-shift and is the overall cleanliness of a satisfactory condition?

Bogeys

  • Are ALL bogeys (10 off) free from excess play (check at the top where motor is secured)

Bag Forming

  • Blow down entire bag forming equipment ensuring you blow out the main fan above the bag forming

  • Are bag suckers free from dirt / damage? Replace if necessary

  • Check and clean Top and Bottom print mark sensors

  • Check the security of bolts on Bag Applicator arms and secure if necessary using correct tooling & torque

  • Check for loose / dangling cables on Vibrating tables and secure if necessary

Weld Units

  • Are ALL weld units secure and in good condition? Paying specific interest to;<br>> Condition of teflons (i.e. no dark marks, tears, etc)<br>> Tape is secure<br>> T-profiles are in place and secure<br>> Cables and connection boxes are free from damage and are intact

Bag Take Off

  • Are the Rubber Stoppers on bag take off T-bar in situ and of good quality?

Conveyor Belts

  • Are ALL conveyors in good condition and aligned correctly

  • Are ALL bag reject chutes free from built up material and that vibrators are working correctly

  • Is there any excess spillage around or under the conveyors?

Date Printer

  • Is date (as shown on printer) correct?

  • Is there adequate Ink in printer

  • Is there adequate Additive in printer

  • Is the quality and legibility of date stamp on bag of an acceptable standard?

Interleave

  • Is there adequate glue for interleave

  • Are 3 rows of glue being dispensed the entire length onto paper interleave during operation

Reject Chute

  • Is reject chute empty and is there adequate room in polythene bag for reject bags? (if necessary, remove and dispose of correctly and replace with new bag)

Additional Checks

  • Is the bag formation on the finished pallet stable and correct placing sequence (i.e. 4 bags should be on the outside)?

  • Are there any fallen bags (esp by palletiser area) that have not been removed from the system?

  • Is there any 'unusual' banging or knocking sounds coming from screws 2 and 3?

  • Is ALL tooling used in production, present and easily accessible?

  • Is ALL housekeeping equipment present and stored in correct locations (i.e. shadow boards)?

  • Is the packer Internal camera system working correctly?

  • Is TDM system working correctly and has Stop Log been populated correctly?

  • What is the starting tonnage in Silo 7 before starting production?
