Procedures being used: Methodology of cleaning points: • High to low • Clean to dirty. The toilet will always be last. • Work in a consistent manner around the room. Left to right. • Two step cleaning process. Clean the surface or area. Discard the wipe or pad. Using a new wipe or pad, disinfect and the wait for the contact time.

  • a. Remove furniture and equipment from the room.

  • b. Remove all waste. Clean interior and exterior receptacle and reline.

  • c. Check cubicle curtains for spots, and change out as needed (for CLC rooms, change out at least quarterly). Indicate on quality check list status of curtain.

  • d. Clean walls from ceiling to floor, and all high touch objects. Allow manufacturer’s recommended dwell time. <br>(1 minute with Clorox peroxide wipes and 3 minutes with bleach wipes for C-Dificle<br><br>For example:<br> <br> Cabinets and closets – inside and out<br> Nightstand<br> Dresser – inside and out<br> Over-the-bed table – inside and out<br> Bed frame, handrails, and mattress<br> Nurse call button, telephone, and TV control<br> Reading and exam lights<br> Windowsills <br>

  • e. Take waste receptacles to HAC and apply with a one-step Clorox peroxide wipe.

  • f. Using Clorox peroxide wipes apply and wipe sink, toilet seat, and tub or shower.

  • g. Put toilet bowl cleaner in toilet; allow dwell time. Scrub with toilet brush and flush prior to leaving room to prevent chemical burns.

  • h. Mop and clean restroom and restock all dispensers.

  • i. Mop floor, beginning from window or from far wall to door. Scrub or strip, if necessary; apply finish and burnish.

  • Note: Be sure to use Wet Floor / Caution signs. Coordinate cleaning with other services as necessary.

  • j. Run UVC light unit, if available, as per manufacturer’s instruction.
