  • The New Jersey Right-To-Know Act labeling requirements (N.J.A.C. 8:59-5.8) provide for exact identification of the ingredients in chemical-containing products in the workplace. These requirements are intended to prevent potential exposure to hazardous chemicals. Products that are transferred from large containers to smaller ready-to-use containers, such as spray containers, must be completely emptied during the following work shift by the employee who transferred the product and/or must be accurately labeled to identify the contents of the container. Container labels must also list the chemical name and the Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) numbers of the five (5) most predominant chemical ingredients in the container whether they are hazardous or non-hazardous.
