Risk Assessment Checklist - Mr. Electric

1. Is there a point of access to the property, which is suitable and safe?

2. Is all equipment to be worked on in a satisfactory condition as regards maintenance?

3. If NO above, can it be safely isolated from a remote position?

4. Is there adequate working space and lighting to allow safe working? (If portable lighting apparatus is, available this is acceptable).

5. Do you have approved, inspected and safe tools and instruments for the task to be undertaken?

6. Do you have all necessary personal protective clothing/equipment?

7. Have you sufficient information about the electrical system to be worked on, to ensure that all work that is to be carried out can be done so in a safe manner?

8. Do you consider yourself competent to undertake the task to be performed in a safe manner?

9. Are you confident that you can complete the work in a safe manner without assistance?

10. If NO above, is assistance available?

11. Have you identified the point of isolation?

12. Have you informed the customer of the work you intend to carry out, and have you ensured that all hazardous areas are suitably marked? (It is necessary during domestic work, to ensure that householders, children and animals are segregated from possible hazards).
