  • Tools and equipment are being used for the task they're designed for and manufactures instructions are being followed

General Housekeeping

  • No oil on floor from forklifts, trucks, etc.

  • Excessive scrap removed from under/near machines

  • Compressed gas cylinders are stored by themselves and not left out when not in use.

Electrical Fixtures

  • All panel boxes are easily accessible and clear of items by at least 36"

  • Wire insulation of machinery is in good condition and not exposed

  • Panel boxes are labeled with proper voltage

  • Extension cords are used only for portable machinery and are free from any damage/electrical tape

  • Outlets have covers and do not expose wires

  • Flammable storage cabinet does not exceed 60 gallons of material

Unsafe Practices

  • Employees are operating forklifts safety i.e. seat belts, using horn when necessary, using spotter if no back up alarm, no loads blocking view, etc.

  • Proper lifting techniques being used

  • Damage or defective equipment not being used

  • Employees are not running machines at excessive speeds

Emergency Response

  • Proper PPE is being worn

  • Emergency contact lists are posted where necessary

  • Eye wash stations are readily accessible and are functional and inspected. Eye wash stations also have buckets

  • First aid kits are easily located and have adequate supplies

  • MSDS binders are updated and easily accessible

Chemicals and Cleaners

  • Aerosol depletion systems is being used and cans are disposed of properly
