  • Safety Data Sheets and Register on site for any hazardous chemicals discovered during inspection (think GP cement, acid, glues, spray cans etc.)

  • Is the Date on SDS is less than 5 years old

  • Random request to sight one General Construction Safety Induction Card (Blue/White)

  • It is a requirement to regularly check Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS).

  • Look for any High Risk Work that is being performed on site and ask to see the relevant SWMS.

  • Is it easy to understand?

  • Workers are not exposed to Respirable Silica Dust.

  • Check for vacuum extraction and workers clean shaven when wearing a dust mask.

  • If scaffolding, first floor edge protection, roof edge protection or void platform is installed.

  • Check gaps (next to wall) is less than 225mm and it has all required kick/toe boards/rails in place and ladder access installed as required– check one of the Hand Over Certificates to verify inspection date.

  • LADDERS: Single and extension ladders (if used) are Industrial rated with 120kg SWL, set up 4:1, fixed at top and/or bottom, extend 1 metre past step off point

  • STEPLADDERS: If used as work platform then confirm light work ONLY and 3 points of substantial contact rule is being abided by

  • Is there any Footpath damage

  • Is there any Kerb damage in front of the Lot
