These observations are conducted to verify if Contractors/Employees are performing tasks safely and in accordance with Operating Procedures.

Items to be inspected

  • Have all the contractor’s employees been inducted, with induction evidence available?

  • Is the contractor Cm3 Pre-qualified (as applicable)?

  • Is a site & task specific Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) available for the work being undertaken?

  • Are licencing requirements outlined in the SWMS?

  • Licences (e.g. electrical, building, plumbing)

  • Permits (e.g. hot work, heights, confined space)

  • Have the risk controls outlined in the SWMS and permits been implemented?

  • Is PPE as specified in the contractor’s SWMS being worn?

  • Are barricading and signage outlined in the SWMS installed where necessary to provide an exclusion zone to the public?

  • Are relevant Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) outlined in the SWMS, available for all chemicals used and/or stored on site by the contractor and within five years from the date of issue?

  • Have the workers maintained good housekeeping standards and ensured walkways/paths clear of equipment & leads?

  • Have the workers left the workplace & surrounding areas clean & secure for staff & customers/residents upon completion of works?
