‘Take Time’ – Pre-Task Safety Checks

Take Time Guidance Notes The ‘Take Time’ assessment is for you as an individual or as a team to review the hazards local to the task. A ‘Take Time’ assessment must be done daily before starting work or when you start a new task at a new location. The assessment should only take a few minutes to complete. Please look around, above and below for any other hazards and check these are managed adequately. Your supervisor does not need to be present when completing the assessment, but will ask for evidence that it has been completed properly. Your completed ‘Take Time’ must be handed in to your supervisor at the end of the day. On the back of the ‘Take Time’ form is a form for recording positive observations or hazards that need addressing. Please use this as needed.

  • Consider the following points before starting a new task. If you are unable to correct
any unsafe condition, stop work and report it to your supervisor immediately.
