Hazards Present: Falls, sprains, breaks, back injury
Risk Control Measures: Inspect ladder prior to each use (clean and undamaged), only use industrial rated ladder, two persons to carry if required, secure ladder to structure before use, have spotter to support ladder, use appropriate footwear, have 3 limbs on ladder at all times, never use hands to carry items on ladder, do not use ladder when broken, patched, oily or cracked rails, only one person to work on standard ladder. -

Work Activity: Use of Scaffolding - Fixed & Portable
Hazards Present: If over 4m, the person erecting the scaffold must hold appropriate certification, kkckboards and handrails must be installed & secured in place, all tools/equipment shall be removed when scaffold not in use, regular checking for faults, damage and stability, minimum clearance to electrical wires of 4m, mobile scaffolding wheel locks must be engaged when scaffold in use, no work to be performed on scaffold in wet weather, do not climb scaffold via standards or transoms, do not exceed manufacturers recommended weight loads. -

Hazards Present: Electric shock, burns, excessive noise, cuts, abrasions, amputations, eye injuries
Risk Control Measures: Equipment test/tag in place, visually check safety features and guards in place before use, don't operate in wet conditions, ensure earth leaking protection is in place and at the supply end of extension lead, if device trips do not restart until cause of issue is found, switch off tool if any faults or abnormal actions become apparent, wear appropriate PPE, and secure loose hair and clothing -

Work Activity: Hot Work - Electric or Gas Welding/Soldering/Cutting
Hazards Present: Burns, welding flash, fire, falling Roxy, acetylene, Roxy and acetylene flashback
Risk Control Measures: Wear appropriate PPE, currently tagged, in date fire extinguisher must be available where hot work is to take place, do not use cylinders which are standing in an enclosed vehicle, is there is a possibility of a leak, test with soap and water, ensure no flammable liquids in the vicinity, bottles to be chained when in upright position, hoses to be fitted with flashback arresters and regulators, after use cylinder valves are tightly shut, outlet gas plugs and valve protection caps installed. -
