- Construction workers have a high risk of developing lung diseases such as lung cancer, silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or asthma. Over 500 construction UK workers died from Silicosis with the number of claims for Silicosis amongst Australian Construction workers in 02/03 being 137 and increasing.
