Car park Landscape maintenance and cleaning

  • If Car Park Landscape Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Ensure designated car park areas are weed free; <br>i. car parks and surrounding surfaces, kerbs and medians are to be kept tidy at all times;<br>ii. weeds of a height of 200 mm are to be removed;

  • Sumps, storm water pits and grilles within car park areas and access roads are in a safe condition

  • The removal of dead shrubs / plants / branches or trees; <br>i. branches or timber of a minimum 20 mm in diameter or larger to be removed on a monthly basis;<br>ii. removal of tree litter from garden beds / median strips to minimise fire / fuel build up on an annual basis as a component of the fire management strategy<br>

  • Maintenance of any shrubs; <br>i. The Contractor will trim & shape all shrubs and plantings and manage their growth and good health thus ensuring that the ambience and theme of the landscape is well maintained

  • University Equipment<br>i. within service areas including lights, signage, bollards, pay machines etc and observations requiring attention reported in writing.

  • Overhanging Landscape<br>i. shrubs, plant, and grasses must not over hang designated walkways car spaces or roadways to ensure the elimination of trip and eye hazards

  • All service points, inspection points, irrigation boxes and other infrastructure access points will be kept clear at all times

  • Hard Surface Cleaning - All designated hard and road surfaces are to have all tree and garden bed litter removed twice annually at a schedule agreed with the University (ie. not blown or relocated onto garden beds or grass areas);

  • Trip / slip / eye hazards that are evident as a result of the adjacent landscape and prevailing weather conditions (including erosion, tree roots, branches, moss etc) are to be remediated and reported in writing

  • Mulching<br>a. The Contractor is responsible for all garden beds to have a layer of mulch to a minimum depth of 75mm at all times<br>

  • Removal of Tree debris<br>a. The removal of dead shrubs, plants or wood and fallen timber and branches from trees will be undertaken

  • General Comments

Irrigated, Non Irrigated and Dry-Land Grass Areas

  • Irrigated, Non Irrigated and Dry-Land Grass Area

  • Cutting of Grass - i. The Contractor is to cut the sward cleanly and as uniform in height as is practicable and consistent with the ground surface and remove clippings from the area;

  • Cutting of edges to all specified areas of irrigated grass and non-irrigated grass;<br>i. The Contractor must undertake edging within the three categories of grass areas (grass areas irrigated with automatic systems, non-irrigated and dry-land grass areas);

  • Edging - The Contractor shall carry out edging of the sward along all in-situ concrete footpaths, kerbs, gutters, walls, mowing strips, metal edging strips and garden beds, bollards, coppers logs, fencing and gates.

  • The Contractor is to cut the sward no closer than 200 mm in the vicinity of curtilage areas, signs & other furnishings

  • Mowing in adverse conditions<br>i. The Contractor shall not mow an area which is wet or soft where the machines will cause indentations to the surface or cause damage to the grass. The University can order the Contractor to cease mowing if the area is considered too wet and time allocations will be transferred to other tasks as agreed;<br>ii. In extremely hot, dry or wet weather conditions, the University can order the Contractor to cease mowing if it is considered that the grass will be damaged by the mowing and time allocations will be transferred to other tasks as agreed;<br>iii. If the Contractor damages an area or causes ruts in the surface they will be responsible for its repair, or the cost of that repair. Such costs shall be negotiated with the University;

  • Removal of material resulting from grass cutting and edge cutting operations within the irrigated and non-irrigated grass areas

  • Hard Surface Cleaning - All designated hard surfaces are to have all organic and vegetation litter removed fortnightly (ie. not blown or relocated onto adjacent garden beds or grass areas)

  • Tree Protection - i. The Contractor shall not allow any equipment to touch and / or damage the trunk of any tree within the grass mowing area

  • Dry-land Grass Areas: Litter / Rubbish<br>a. The Contractor will remove all litter, bottles and or glass from dry-land grass areas prior to any landscape maintenance. The collected litter, bottles glass and other rubbish is to be deposited in the appropriate waste receptacles at the cost of the Contractor. <br>

  • General Comments

Sports Field Management

  • Sports Field Management

  • Maintain roadside verges adjacent to sports fields to the standard of non-irrigated lawn requirements

  • Maintain turf edging abutting hard surfaces, paths, fences, trees, bollards, gates, garden areas and parking infrastructure

  • Grass mowing - playing surfaces<br>a. The Contractor is to cut the sward cleanly and as uniform as is practical and consistent with the ground surface;<br>b. Grass must be kept at a height and thickness that is required by the sporting code that is primarily intended to use the surface; and<br>c. No tracking, slicing, skidding, dragging or operational technique is to be used that is detrimental to the playing surface.<br>

  • Grass mowing - Irrigated non-playing surfaces<br>a. These areas are to be mowed and kept clear and tidy as per the expectations under the mowing of irrigated grass areas within the University grounds; and<br>b. The Contractor will ensure that there is not a build-up of clippings such as clumps or rows.<br>

  • Grass mowing - non irrigated grass areas<br>a. These areas are to be mowed and kept clear and tidy as per the expectations under the mowing of non-irrigated areas within the UC grounds.<br>

  • Hard Surface Cleaning - All designated hard surfaces are to have all organic and vegetation litter removed fortnightly (ie. not blown or relocated onto adjacent garden beds or grass areas)

  • Synthetic cricket wickets<br>a. The Contractor shall keep synthetic cricket wickets free of dirt and grit;<br>b. The surface will be cleaned by blowing or sweeping the surface at an interval sufficient to maintain intent. In the event that a mechanical cleaner / broom is to be used approval from the University Representative is required in writing;<br>c. Surrounding turf should be trimmed so that grass stolons do not encroach onto the synthetic playing surface;<br>
