Communication

  • Is communication equipment serviceable?

  • Are correct protocols for communication being used?

  • Has a second form of communication been identified?

First Aid

  • Is there a qualified First Aider on site?

  • Are First Aid kits available, in order and in date?

Work Method Statements (WMS)

  • Are WMS available on site?

  • Have all workers signed onto the WMS?

  • Is the WMS relevant to the task?

  • Are the controls being applied?

Plant and Equipment

  • Does all plant meet the ARTC General Plant Requirements EPP-32-03?

  • If the hiab crane is in use: are the stabilising legs/outriggers deployed?

  • If stabilising legs are deployed and the ground surface is soft/unstable, is dunnage in place?

Track vehicles

  • Is the PO aware on track plant and how it is being managed within the work site?

  • If HiRail vehicles are on track, is the dome light operating and are the headlights on?

  • Do all track vehicle on site have the minimum Emergency Safety Equipment on board?

  • Is all the Emergency Safety Equipment properly stored in locked metal boxes?

Fatigue Management

  • Has each person worked 12 hours or less in each shift in this job or project?

  • Have workers been rostered less than four consecutive 12 hour shifts?

  • Have all workers worked less than eight consecutive shifts

  • Have all workers had more than an eight hour break between shifts?

  • Do all workers travel less than an hour to and from work?
