1. General work environment

  • Floor surfaces are flat, even and dry

6. Emergency preparation

  • Exit pathways are clear of obstructions

  • Fire doors are operational, e.g. open and close easily, and not chocked open

  • Fire stairs are well lit

  • Local emergency contacts are displayed e.g. chief warden, local emergency wardens, nominated first aid officers

  • Emergency evacuation signage is displayed in common areas of the building e.g. lift lobby, main corridors
