  • If hazardous materials are being used to undertake a task, do the workers understand the hazards and controls needed in accordance with the applicable Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and are they implemented

  • Has a JobSTART been conducted with workers and are workers aware of the specific hazards, the level of risk and the specific controls that need to be in place for the tasks being undertaken

  • Is there evidence of regular toolbox talks being conducted and can workers recall the last toolbox talk and topic discussed

  • Are site emergency procedures, evacuation plan and emergency contact details displayed in the workplace

  • Are workers aware of the actions to take in the event of an emergency

  • Are appropriate risks and hazard signage posted in the workplace, and are they clear, visible and legible

  • Do workers know the procedure for isolating plant/vehicles/workers from each other on the site

  • Are entrances and exits clearly defined for workers and visitors and are they safe and free of obstructions and debris

  • Are all site amenities being maintained to a high health and hygiene standard

  • Is appropriate and sufficient emergency equipment provided in the workplace and in correct locations
