Is there suitable communication on site?
Is there an appropriate First Aid kit on site?
Are there suitable washing and toilet facilities on site?
Is the Emergency Plan appropriate and up to date?
Are the Lone Working arrangements appropriate?
Is there adequate oil or chemical spill kits on site?
Are all oils, lubricants, fuels and pesticides stored in appropriate locked containers?
Is adequate provision of deadwood being made during harvesting operations?
Protected Species - Are these surveyed and have adequate provisions been made for their protection?
Protected Habitats - Are these adequately marked off and protected from silt etc?
Ground Damage - Is this within acceptable limits?
Are watercourses running clear and are they free from pollution?
Waste/litter Management - Is the site clear of waste and litter?
Are all pieces of machinery and equipment in good condition?
Fuel and oil systems in good order?
Is the machinery or equipment appropriate to the task in hand? Is it up to the job?
Are service areas clean and left in a safe condition?
Does all machinery have PUWER and LOLER records?
Are Threshold Signs in place?
Is there appropriate on site safety signs?
Goal posts and ground level barriers - Are all power lines and other utilities properly identified and protected?
Hazard management measures - Are appropriate measures in place to control other site hazards?
Are any risk zones identified and marked? (Eg power line Red Zone)
Is the access road safe and in good condition and is there suitable and safe turning space?
Is the contractor adopting safe working practices and are these in line with agreed Method Statements?
Are timber stacks safe and within agreed working heights?
Work at height - Is this being carried out safely. (Harnesses etc)
Are any lifting and lowering operations being carried out safely and according to any agreed Lifting Plan?
Permit to Dig - Is there an approved permit to dig for any excavations and does it relate to the ongoing operation?
Are any other operations on the contract checklist not mentioned above being done safely?
Have there been any accidents, near misses or safety incidents that the contractor is obliged to report?
Have there been any environmental incidents?
