Main Drive

  • Check main drive chain to ensure proper tension. Remove or replace links as necessary

  • Check overload clutch on main drive motor to ensure proper compression and adjustment

Seal Bar (air)

  • Inspect cylinder for wear, ensure shaft seals are not leaking

  • Inspect cold bar for wear. Silicone pad should be spongy not hard. Teflon tape should be in good condition

  • Inspect hot bar for wear. Teflon coating should not be scratched

  • Check condition of cord and cord sets for hot bar

  • Check overall functionality of seal bar to ensure levelness, compression, proper seal on front and back side of package, and proper cutoff

  • Inspect product at seal bar photoeye to ensure proper functionality and condition

  • Inspect the seal bar up and down prox to ensure proper functionality and condition

  • Inspect seal bar chain tension

  • Adjust timers and temperatures as necessary

Seal Bar (servo)

  • Inspect servo cables for wear

  • Inspect servo belt and seal bar belt for wear and verify proper tension

  • Inspect cold bar for wear. Silicone pad should be spongy not hard. Teflon tape should be in good condition

  • Inspect hot bar for wear. Teflon coating should not be scratched

  • Check condition of cord and corsets for the hot bar

  • Check overall functionality of seal bar to ensure levelness, compression, proper seal on front and back side of package, and proper cutoff

  • Inspect product at seal bar photoeye to ensure proper functionality and condition

  • Inspect the seal bar home/over travel prox

  • Adjust timers and temperatures as necessary

Film Feed and Dancer Bars

  • Inspect all dancer bar rollers for proper condition and functionality

  • Inspect web broken and film feed photo eyes and flags. Ensure proper location of dancer bar

  • Inspect dancer bar weights to make sure that the proper tension is on the film so the film feeds properly

  • Inspect film feed rollers to ensure grip tape is in good condition

  • Inspect film feed clutch for visible damage

Top and Bottom Film Racks and Mandrels

  • Ensure that the cradles slide out properly

  • Ensure that the UHMW bearing surface is in good condition and not in need of replacement

  • Inspect shafts and collets to ensure the collet tightens properly to shaft and has no physical damage

  • Check operation of low film feed alert photoeye

Side Load Film Racks and Splice Bar

  • Check condition of rollers to ensure that they are rolling properly and not hindering the flow of the film

  • Check operation of low film alert photoeye

  • Check 45 degree bars to make sure that air jets are adjusted properly

  • Check to make sure that film centering devices still adjust properly on film rack

  • Check splice bar for proper operation

  • Check condition and tension of splice wire

  • Check condition of bars to ensure Teflon seal tape is in good condition

Film Hoist

  • Check condition of film hoist chain

  • Check condition of film hoist attachment

  • Ensure that the hoist lifts and lowers properly with smooth operation of the motor

  • Check to make sure that the film hoist rotates and moves in and out appropriately

Additional Items

  • Ensure good package quality coming out of the backside of the wrapper

  • Ensure that the wrapper is running fast enough for production rates

  • Ensure documentation for changeover is clear

  • Ensure proper operation of all guarding and guard circuitry
