Is the wind stable for tree felling? If you observe the tops of trees swirling in a circular pattern this indicates an unstable wind pattern and cutting should cease/not begin until wind patterns stabilize.

Chain brake is operational and has full range of movement. Chain brake when applied prevents chain movement (test before turning on chainsaw by trying to move chain with gloved hand while chain brake is applied)
