Does your store experience difficulty ordering materials on SAP?
-
SAP Reminders:
Do not place a new order until the previous order has been shipped, if you do so you may risk the cancellation of one or both of the placed orders.
Be sure to click "Order" rather than "Save" in SAP. Saving the order will not place it for order processing, it will save it in the system.
Double check the shipping address and the cost centers when ordering. -
Note: Agreements should only be given to guests who apply and must be given to the guest at that time. They should be stored out of that guests site.

Target GiftCards
-
Why gift cards are important to your store:
- Target is the biggest gift card issuer in the world, issuing around $1.3 billion in gift cards a year.
- The average amount issued on a gift card is around $24, while the average basket size when redeemed is around $53! So, on average, basket sizes increase significantly from the original gift card dollar amount, which means increased sales for your store. This is why it is so important to have good store processes in place to set and replenish gift cards in your store. -
Do you use the Target Weekly Replenishment Guide?
-
Process
Use the Weekly Replenishment Guide as a tool to ensure that all GiftCard fixtures are being replenished during the set. Make note of when you replenish or check the inventory on each of the fixtures. The ETL-GE should review and sign off on this checklist weekly. -
Who is responsible for maintaining and setting gift cards in your store?
-
How frequently do you order gift cards from SAP?
-
Need to know:
1) Target GiftCards are auto-replenished based on sales and forecasts
2) Inventory will arrive at your store on the weekly non-retail supply (NRSC) pallet
3) You can order one case pack of certain dpci's on SAP excluding WOW gift cards
4) It shouldn't take more than one to two hours to count your gift cards -
We are currently planning for Holiday 2014. Do you have any feedback from last year as it relates to inventory quantities?
-
FAQS:
Q: Store ordering GiftCards, but not receiving any/enough replenishment.
A: Product Design (PD) has identified that DC counts are incorrect, resulting in orders not being fulfilled accurately. Continue to use mySupport and email GC.ExceptionOrders@target.com to surface count discrepancies or replenishment issues.
Q: Feature GiftCard sells out quickly following a new set with little/no replenishment.
A: Feature GiftCards are made in limited quantities and distributed based on a store’s forecasted GiftCard sales. If stores become critically low early in the set because of sales or shrink (GiftCards that leave the store without sale) , please email GC.ExceptionOrders@target.com with current quantities so the GiftCard team can adjust forecasted amounts for future sets.
Q: Stores are running out of gift cards due to large orders from business owners.
A: Stores should use Fast Pack gift cards for guests that order large amount of gift cards. They can also call the B2B team to place an order at 1-800-544-3875. -

Visa/Amex GiftCards and American Express Prepaid
-
-
Process
- The Presentation Team Lead should set and tie the POG to every check lane location to ensure product is replenished by the system from the electronics stockroom. POG labels should be placed near the fixture worth all other checklane POG labels.
- Price labels should be directly on the front of each pocket of the fixture.
- Correctly tying Visa/Amex gift card fixtures to all lanes and locating backstock will improve replenishment by initiating backroom pulls, ensuring the product flows correctly.
- The physical location number is (98). Assign physical location (or section #) 98 to front lane fixtures and zero to endcaps (i.e. Stationary end cap).
- The separate location for front lane fixtures will avoid possible unites when other product transitions take place. -
Who sets your Target Visa and American Express Gift Cards?
- PTL
- In-Stocks
- GE
- GSTL
- GiftCard Captain
- HL-TL
- other
-
Where does your store keep its backstock of these products?
-
Process
All backstock should be located in the electronics lockup to meet compliance standards. Fines could be incurred if this process is not executed correctly. -
Process
American Express Prepaid Cards have the same best practices as Visa/Amex gift cards. They should be tied to appropriate checklane locations (98); as well as located in electronics lockup. -
