APPROACH

  • Driver waits outside the circle of safety until aircraft beacon lights off, engine off, aircraft wheels chocked

  • STOP. DO NOT APPROACH - Report to Airline Immediately. Describe problem below. List name of person informed.

  • Circle of safety: driver waits for signal from guide before entering circle of safety.

  • Truck guided past aircraft wing(s)

  • Correct guide signals demonstrated with safety wands/illuminated wands used when visibility is low

  • Truck speed at walking pace

  • Immediately counsel driver

  • WIng-tip, Mid-wing, and 3-foot safety stops and break checks conducted

  • Gear put in neutral position or park for catering operation and emergency park break applied.

  • Forward Wheel chocked fittingly by the Guide (Unit specific may require Right rear wheel chocked also)<br>

  • Driver remains in Cab with foot on brake until guide person deploys stabilizers

  • Stop the process and close the door. Counsel employee on proper procedure

  • Final Positioning: Guide and Driver confirm truck is parked where platform should be raised so that bumper is approximately 6-8" from aircraft.

SERVICE

  • What type of platform

  • Narrow platform is aligned properly, completely clear of galley door

  • Adjust platform to proper position or lower platform and reposition truck if necessary

  • Sensor is tested prior to opening galley door

  • Stop driver and have Driver test sensor. Counsel Driver on proper procedure for testing sensors

  • STOP. Do not allow catering to proceed unless platform is completely clear of galley door. Galley MUST NEVER be positioned above platform unless protected by working sensor.

  • Ramp free from cracks or distortion

  • Create work order for maintenance

  • RSM 6.16 Side Rail Deployment; Hand rail correctly set<br>**When applicable (Unit Specific) fall protection with the use of personal fall arrest system (full body harness with leg straps and shock absorbing lanyard utilized

  • Mandatory picture.

  • Visual and Tactile damage check inspection of galley door performed prior to opening

  • DO NOT APPROACH - TAKE PHOTO. Contact station personnel and your supervisor. Who at airline was informed? Put name and contact information below.

  • Were airline or aircraft specific procedures for opening doors followed.

  • Identify failed procedure below and counsel employee on proper procedure.

  • Engine turned off immediately after final adjustment of platform by pressing "kill switch" on control panel.

  • One cart at a time is pushed (not pulled) into and out of aircraft. No items transported on top of trolley.

  • Counsel employee on proper procedure.

  • Platform kept free of all staged materials at all times.

  • Remove debris and counsel employee on proper procedure

DEPARTURE

  • Before lowering truck, visual check of both sides of truck to ensure safe for lowering

  • Counsel employee on proper procedure

  • Perimeter of truck is clear of FOD

  • Have employee remove FOD and counsel on proper procedure

  • Front and Back bed doors closed while vehicle is moving.

  • Before stabilizers or chocks are removed, Driver gets in cab and applies brakes.

  • Stop Driver and counsel on proper procedures

  • Stabilizers raised first, then only rear-facing chocks removed

  • Guide person positioned (10') behind truck and clear path established

  • Counsel both Driver and Guide on proper procedure

  • Guide uses proper reverse hand signals and speed control

  • Chocks retrieved and stowed<br>

  • Counsel Driver and Guide on proper procedure

SIGN OFF

  • Any other condition, procedure or scenario that requires attention, shared feed back with driver/guide team

  • All safe driver regulations followed
