Site Risk Assessment

  • Are all operatives aware of the Customer Life saving rules?

  • Have all operatives received the Customer project induction?

  • Are Task specific RAMS, Required permits (digging/hot works?) & Point Of Work Risk Assessment available on site/completed?

  • Can the operative(s) demonstrate understanding of the above documents?

  • Is correct PPE for task being worn (hard hat, Hi-vis, safety footwear, gloves) and in good condition, clean, in date along with the tools?

  • Is RPE/Dust mask (FPP3) being worn, in good condition, and has operative been face fit tested, and is currently clean shaven?

  • Is additional PPE requirements as detailed in RAMS being worn/used - e.g. correct standard Hi-Vis for Road type, harness etc.?

  • Are residents aware of work being undertaken, have they been informed - drop cards, local notices?

  • Are there enough safety precautions against physical hazards that may affect the Operatives on site? E.g.exposed wiring, loose fittings, damaged pathways, decay pole??

  • Are is safe for Operatives to access or pass through to complete their work?

  • Are there sufficient arrangements to avoid sharp injuries? Safety Gloves, PPEs.

  • Is there adequate lighting on site whilst operatives are working?

  • Is there working/calibrated CAT and Genny available on site to ensure safe digging?

  • Are there right people (trained/experienced) for right job?

  • Does team have enough barriers, gate guards/ cones and chapter signs to perform activity safely?

  • Is Vehicle have proper Chapter 8 markings along with beacon light installed on site?

COSHH Assessment

  • Is there first aid box, qualified first aider available to deal with emergency?

  • Is there COSHH items waste disposal process for the site operatives? E.g fiber sharps bin , small fuel containers?

  • Is Working GDU available for Hazardous gas testing before operating in confined space?

  • Are there enough safety measures in place to perform activity safely Without being exposed to harmful/hazardous substances)

  • Are all chemicals and COSHH items labeled? Fuel container, fibre bin , fibre cleaning chemical??

  • Is there spill kit available on site to manage/control spill ?

  • Are there sufficient arrangements in place to ensure workers safety? Extreme weather, hazardous gases , fumes and dust, noise above acceptable limit?
