General Site Procedures

  • Before Staring this survey please ensure you have signed in with the store so that they are aware of your attendance.

  • Please Enter the Works Authorization number.

  • Have you produced the store with the relevant risk assessments & Method Statements

  • Does the Store allow engineers to park in the loading bay whilst working on site?

  • If No. Please ask the store of there parking procedures for engineers and describe any issues.

  • Are there any permits required from any other areas before starting work?

  • Where are the Motors located?

  • Are there any Specific keys required to access the location? if so please provide images of the Keys.

  • Please Identify with clear instruction of how the Motors would be transported from vehicle into the store.

  • Please Provide Pictures of access routes

  • Will there be any specific lifting or access equipment required, if the motors where to be sized at VO2 or VO3?

  • If Yes provide a description of the specific requirement.

  • How many fan motors are located on this site?

  • Before Any work commences Please Document any defects or concerns with existing equipment, please provide picture evidence.

AHU & Motor - General, Electrical, Belt & Pulley Details

    Identification & Electrical Information
  • please identify AHU with a number reference

  • Please provide a picture of the AHU

  • Does the AHU have specific ID tag or number? If So please provide an image.

  • Please provide details of how the AHU is safely isolated.

  • Please provide an image of the isolation method.

  • Safely isolate the AHU and gain access to the motor and control panel. Please provide image of both the motor and the controls panel.

  • Identify motor contactor in electrical control panel and ensure safe access to output 3-phase cables (competent person only). When motor is switched on and running at full speed use a ‘Clamp meter’ to record the current on each phase. Please provide pictures of each reading.

  • Using the formula V(volts) x Current (average Amps) x PF (0.65) x 1.73 calculate the output kW duty of the existing induction motor. Please Note the calculation outcome. This will determine the size of the new motor to be installed.

  • Is there currently circuit protection installed for the existing Fan motor? if yes please provide an image.

  • The new fan motor controller will allow a 1.5mm/2.5mm cable to be installed due to the terminal sizes. please identify the current motor cable size.

  • If CSA of the existing cable is larger than 2.5mm, then we will need to downsize the cable by installing an MCB allowing us to use a smaller cable. If this applies please provide images of where the new MCB could be installed.

  • Locate existing fan contact and check is there is a spare NO or NC contact available for a run signal? If yes please provide an image.

Fan Motor Information

  • Please identify motor with a number reference.

  • Please provide an image of the Fan motor including housing. mounting plate etc.

  • Is the Motor name plate clearly visible? If No please notify Future Motors ASAP.

  • If name plate is clearly visible please provide an image.

Belts & Pulley information

  • Please Identify the Motor reference number.

  • Please identify if the motor is belt or direct driven.

  • Please isolate The unit to accurately record the current rotation of the motor drive as it reduces in speed.

  • Using a Tachometer and reflective tape place onto the LARGE pulley, please re-energize the motor and record the current Fan Drive speed, NOT the Actual Motor Drive speed. Please add an image of the on screen display.

  • Please identify the product number of existing belt.

  • Please provide image of existing belt, try include belt number within image.

  • Measure from the center of the existing motor shaft to the center of the adjacent shaft and record Measurement. This provides information for belt length.

  • Please identify small pulley product number.

  • Please provide image of existing small pulley, try and include product number within image.

  • Measure the diameter of the existing small pulley and record result.

  • Please provide an image of the measurement result.

  • Please identify large pulley product number.

  • Please provide image of existing large pulley, try and include product number within image.

  • Measure the diameter of the existing large pulley and record result.

  • Please provide an image of the measurement result.

  • Please identify taper lock product number.

  • Please provide image of existing taper lock, try and include product number within image.

Additional Information

  • Please Highlight any additional information which may be helpful when planning to carry out the installation eg: Access & Lifting methods, existing motor issues, existing electrical issues.
