Hygienic Practices

  • Are personnel following correct GMP hygiene practices (e.g. correct wearing of hair coverings, uniforms, washing hands, no unapproved jewellery, etc)

10kg Pack room

Equipment & Facilities

  • No materials for 10kg line left in pack room. Only the stock needed for the day should be removed from the warehouse. No stock should be left uncovered on pallets. All stock removed from the consumables area should be returned at end of the production run.

  • 10kg line Sticker bench left in a clean and tidy state. Stamps and stickers returned to designated areas. Filing cupboard tidy with no unidentified items in drawers.

  • No Chemicals to be stored in the 10kg pack room

  • Food contact tools and cleaning equipment clearly identifiable, controlled (not stored on windowsills, clearly labelled for use), and is in a good state of repair?

  • NON-Food contact tools and cleaning equipment clearly identifiable, controlled (not stored on windowsills, clearly labelled for use), and is in a good state of repair?

  • Are any other tools used in a good condition, clean and stored appropriately?

  • Tool shadow board to be clean and tidy. Are tools used in a good condition? Everything to be labelled and designated.

  • Storage cabinet (black) to be clean and tidy. No unidentified items to be stored here. Everything to be labelled and designated.

  • Offices opening into 10kg pack room to be tidy to prevent pest ingress, no chemicals, raw materials, PPE, product to be stored in the offices. All stationary to be metal detectable. No staples or paperclips.

  • Are all lights working? (If lights aren't working check if there is a MEX request in)

  • Equipment in a safe working order, no peeling labels/paint/plastic.

Cleaning

  • Is the packing line in a clean and tidy state (Bench, hopper, scales, vacuum sealer, taper)?

  • Floors clean with no product spillage/foreign objects present. Note: this will not be marked as non-conforming during work-in-progress unless build up is excessive.

  • Waste bins not overflowing, in a clean condition, in a marked designated area and labelled?

  • Drains clear of product, no product build up between grate and drain. Note: this does not include dry product during operation.

  • Hoppers, tanks, product pallets must be properly covered when not in use.

  • Are windows and window sills in good condition and clean?

  • Are light covers in a clean condition? Free of dust and product build up?

  • Are all switch and control boxes clean and free of build up and dust, especially on the top of the box?

Pest Control

  • Is the area free of pest activity. Check pheromone traps and vials.

  • Is there any possibility of pest ingress? (i.e. gaps under doors to external, holes in fly screens, etc)

Warehouse

Storage

  • Check pallets on ground are for next despatch, if not should be on racking.

  • No product/boxes/chemical/raw materials uncovered, in open packaging, or spilt in surrounding area.

  • Store and/or control rejected materials in clearly identifiable segregation so as to prevent usage.

  • Pallets of product/raw materials/chemicals have identification labelling.

  • Is the staging area on the south side of the warehouse in a tidy condition. No pallets stored uneccessarily, no wooden excessive splinters, no redundant equipment to prevent pest ingress.

Consumable area

  • Consumables in clearly identifiable containers/boxes.

  • Consumables shelving tidy, no empty boxes or packaging.

Equipment

  • Ladders, pallet jacks, forklifts are stored in a labelled area that doesn't block the path of the forklift or walkway.

  • Are ladders, pallet jacks, forklifts in a clean and tidy condition.

  • Is plant machinery free from leaks and rust?

General

  • Warehouse area is clean and orderly.

  • No product or foreign objects in drains or around edging

Pest Control

  • Is the area free of pest activity. Check pheromone traps and vials.

  • Is there any possibility of pest ingress? (i.e. gaps under doors to external, holes in fly screens, etc)

Cold Room

  • Containers designed to protect against adulteration (i.e. SCY security seal in cold room).

  • Is the cold room in a clean and tidy state with no pooling water, no product build up, mould on walls or foreign objects?

  • Are the plastic strips in door ways clean and free from product buildup and dirt?

Maintenance

  • If there is tape used for temporary repairs is it dated and controlled (is temporary repair procedure being followed)? If tape is not dated and controlled contact maintenance (non scored).

  • Are any other temporary repairs noted and uncontrolled?

Other

  • Are there any other issues noted on the walk not mentioned above? (Yes is a score of 0)
