Heat Pump Wiring

Heating Controls / Stats Wiring

  • Is each zone/floor corresponding with the correct zone valve?

Heat Pump Mounting

  • Is the unit installed the correct distance from nearest boundaries?

  • Is the unit secured correctly to antivibration mounts via rubber mounts?

  • Is the unit mounted plumb level?

  • Is a condensate drain kit fitted (drain kit located inside HP access door)?

  • If the unit is mounted on wall brackets; is a drip tray installed?

Heat Pump Plumbing (Outdoor)

  • Is the correct size pipework used?

  • Are flexible antivibration hoses fitted and washers used?

  • Are heat pump isolation valves fitted out at the heat pump?

  • Is the flow and return pipework connected correctly?

  • Is the primary flow pipework insulated?

Cylinder Plumbing (Indoor)

  • Is the flow switch installed on the primary pipework and fitted in the correct orientation?

  • Is the flow switch installed on the primary horizontal pipework with 150mm pipework each side free of a bend or appliance?

  • Is flow and return pipework connected the right way around?

  • Is the heating expansion vessel correctly sized, secured and charged to to the correct pressure?

  • Are all pump valves and isolation valves fully open?

  • Has system been completely flushed of air and charged to the correct operating pressure of 2 bar?

  • Are all safety valves and tundish drained through a metal pipe to an appropriate drain point?

Radiator / UFH Plumbing

  • Has all air been removed from emitters?

  • Have all emitters been balanced correctly?

  • If UFH is installed, have the correct flow rates been set?

  • If UFH is installed, are all valves on manifolds / pumps fully open?

Additional ASHP Checklist

  • Unit clearances are correct?

  • Anti-freeze valves fitted or glycol installed in the system?

  • All pipework in cylinder cupboard insulated?

  • Isolation valve fitted on cold inlet?

  • Inlet control group valve fitted in incoming cold with 3m of cylinder?

  • D1 size (max 600mm away from temperature relief valve)?

  • D2 pipework minimum 300mm before the 1st bend?

  • Potable expansion vessel fitted on cold feed between inlet valve and cylinder?

  • Expansion vessel on heating (check pressure is the same on PRV - 3 bar)?

  • Flow switch must be installed in horizontal pipework, allowing a minimum of 150mm horizontal pipework on each side of the flow switch?

  • Lever valves fitted?

  • Hot water outlet starts in 22mm pipe - can be reduced?
